Firestone Walker Parabajava

Parabajava14% ABV. Barrel-aged Parabola Imperial Coffee Stout with the base Parabola aged on espresso beans from Firestone Walker Brewing in Paso Robles, CA. I had to spend a pretty penny to land this baby. I’ve been meaning to acquire this when I learned of the news this was being bottled after trying Parabajava at the 2013 Snallygaster beer event in Washington, DC. This is bottle number 001, so I assume this is going to be an annual release (I hope)! Pours motor black with a nice one-finger head that dissipates to a lasting ring throughout. Aromas of espresso, oak, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and light notes of bourbon. The espresso coffee lends raoasty caramel, toffee, baker’s chocolate and molasses to the big rich character of Parabola. The complementary flavors pair well with Parabola’s rich malt and smoky oak bourbon notes. Complex, smooth and seamlessly integrated! theBeerAuthority: A
