Parish Brewing Ghost In the Machine

Ghost Machine 28% ABV. Double IPA from Parish Brewing Company in Broussard, LA. I was very pleased to receive such a highly regarded beer as an extra through a care package received from a generous beergeek. Pours copper gold with a slightly hazy character and thick white head that recedes rather quickly to a thin, sticky lacing. The nose picks up dank and resinous pine layered thick over some mango, pineapple, and floral notes. The flavors are reminiscent of the aromatics with hops and an added fruit kick that can best be described as a pineapple and tangerine burst that does a job on taming the hops through the maltiness of the beer. Mouthfeel is slick and clean, finishes dry with a minimal linger. Overall a solid beer and glad to have tried out a brewery I have never heard of before! theBeerAuthority: B+
