Beachwood Brewing The Ghost of Jacob Barley

IMG_29279.6% ABV. Winter Warmer brewed in collaboration between Beachwood Brewing, Noble Ale Works, and Portola Coffee Labs from the SoCal area. Pours dark amber along with a very thin off-white head with lacing that does not last well enough throughout. Aroma of basically lots of coffee, some oak, and very light vanilla and cinnamon layered on top of that strong coffee nose. The flavor profile highlights the rich English caramels, brown sugar, oats, hints of cinnamon, and lots of that Portola Coffee. Thin body with very low carbonation along with a very sticky mouthfeel. Overall, I was disappointed as I felt like I was drinking watered down coffee with a weak supporting cast of winter spice that should would have been a nice and warm balance offsetting that overwhelming coffee flavor found in this beer.
