Almanac Beer Farm to Barrel Noir

Alamanac Farm to Barrel10% ABV. American imperial stout and Belgian-inspired dark ale aged in bourbon barrels from Almanac Beer Company (brewed at Hermitage Brewing Co.) in San Francisco, CA. Pours dark brown with a thin off-white head leaving very nice lacing throughout. Aromas of charred oak, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa beans, and light notes of bourbon. The flavor profile suggests some caramel, light brown sugar, plums, oak, and silky chocolate bourbon goodness. Velvety texture in the mouthfeel with a polished, yet subtle heat finish that only Kentucky charred oak can only seem to pull off. Overall, a very nice beer and I want to keep trying those Farm to Barrel series from the brewery!
