Bell’s This one Goes to 11 Ale

This one goes to 1111% ABV. Double IPA from Bells Brewery in Kalamazoo, MI. Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Dark amber pour with a tall, frothy tan head. Strong hop resins, fresh cut pine, citrus fruit, caramel and tropical fruit make up the aroma. Taste is big pine, floral hops, citrus oils, tropical fruit, chewy malt and rich caramel. Body is medium-full and very chewy with lots of resinous notes amongst the dense, creamy carbonation. Lingering hop bitterness throughout this one which didn’t really cut it for me. Finishes with more rich caramel, chewy malt, strong pine, hops resins, tropical fruit notes and citrus oils. It is a complex and bold DIPA, a tad bit disappointed with this one due to the unpleasant bitter backfinish for me.
