Lips of Faith: Alpine Beer Company + New Belgium Super India Pale Ale

Alpine NB Super IPA9% ABV. Double IPA from New Belgium in Fort Collins, Colorado. This is a collaboration beer between the Alpine Beer Company in San Diego. Alpine is one of my favorite breweries because of their outstanding well-hopped IPA beers. After trying my first bottle of this goodness, I loved it so much that I stock piled this beer just in case this was an “one off” which I sincerely hope is not the case! This beer pours a clear dark orange with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to a beautiful and rocky lace. The nose is super intense dank and resin hops with a nice dose of caramel malt and citrus to back everything up. The flavor is sweet hops, but dominated by the super intense dank and resin hops, with the malty caramel and bread balancing the hops nicely. The body is fairly full and sticky with average carbonation and a long super bitter and hoppy finish. Excellent DIPA and I hope to see this special beer continue.
