Struise Tsjeeses

10% ABV. Belgian Strong Ale from De Struise Brouwers in Belgium. Acquired the 2010 vintages from a local beer retailer. Poured from two different versions of this brew (to the right is the “stoner santa” picture on the label and to the left is a “cleaner version” with santa wearing sunglasses) into a tulip glass. The pour is a clear golden/orange color with a very small layer of white foam that quicky fizzles away. Faint aroma of spices, floral, and sweet malts. Flavors are of caramel, orange zest, honey, Belgian candi sugar, and toasted bread. There is some alcohol heat to the brew. Medium-bodied with decent carbonation throughout. I was disappointed with this brew as I expected more, but it was neat trying those out.
