The only authority for all things beer…

Kuhnhenn 4th Demenia

13.5% ABV. Old Ale from Kuhnhenn Brewing Company in Warren, Michigan. This beer is their 4th Dementia Olde Ale that has been bourbon barrel aged. My first beer from this brewery and was very excited to try this one out as this is a well-regarded brew in beer snobbery circles. Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours root beer brown with thin off-white head. Beautiful lacing that lasted extremely well throughout. Aromas of marshmallows, toffee, caramel, and hints of bourbon. Smooth, well-masked bourbon in the flavors along with caramel and some maple syrup. Amazing smooth mouthfeel with nice carbonation throughout. This is a beer I definitely want to try again!
