Great Lakes Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout

9.5% Russian Imperial Stout from the Great Lakes Brewing Company in Cleveland, Ohio. The regular Great Lakes Blackout Stout beer is one of my favorites and I just had to try the Barrel Aged version. I was able to acquire this through a really nice trade where I also received a ’11 bottle of The Event Horizon. Pours opaque black with a thin off-white head that quicky dissispates. Lacing is quite decent throughout. Very boozy bourbon in the armoa along with some wood and light vanilla. Quite too boozy in the flavor especially in the back finish. Mouthfeel is a lot thinner than the regular Blackout, yet just as smooth. I think I’ll stick to the regular version, thank you very much.
