The only authority for all things beer…

Port Mongo IPA

8.5% ABV. Double IPA from Port Brewing/Lost Abbey in San Marcos, California. This brew was supposedly brewed in memory of the brew cat. On tap at a local beer garden in Philly. Poured into tall glass. Pours a dark orange colour with a lacy, white and thick head. Strong aroma of fresh hops, grapefruit and pineapple. Flavour of strong, fresh, floral hops, pine needles, grapefruit and very weak sweetness. Some saltiness as well. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a long, grapefruity and crispy bitter finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. This is a double IPA done well.
