Green Flash Palate Wrecker

9.5% ABV. Imperial IPA from Green Flash Brewing in San Diego, California. Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA they have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to their hop layering regimen for IPA. They used almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster. Poured from 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. Pours amber in color with large white head. Lacing lasts well throughout the session. Aroma is lightly malty, caramel, toasted grain, resiny/hoppy, and grapefruit with alcoholic notes. Moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter finish. Full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and moderately alcoholic. A very nice hoppy beer!
