Surly Bender

5.1% ABV. American Brown Ale from the Surly Brewing Company in Minnesota acquired through trade. Poured from can into tulip glass. Pours muddy brown with a rocky, fluffy, tan head that sticks around leaving excellent poofy lacing along the sides of the glass. Aroma is fresh, floral, light peppermint, mint chocolate chip. Taste is cola, sweet, roasty, bitter chocolate. Medium bodied and a soft, bubbly palate. Really just a solid session beer. A good brown ale is a difficult thing to find.
