The only authority for all things beer…

St. Sebastiaan

7.7% ABV. Tripel from Brouwerij Sterkens in Beligum. A buddy of mine brought a ceramic jug of this beer from a beer shop in Delaware. Poured from a cool ceramic container (a definite keeper as this is rare these days!) into a tulip glass. Pours hazy blonde/golden with a medium white head that lasts throughout the session. Aroma is floral/citrusy, some hints of lemon, biscuit, and sweet malt. Taste is one of refreshing grains hops with sweet malts, and honey tones which makes you think of a good summer beer. The beer itself isn’t bad indeed, but can’t fill the expectations I had. Nice grainy taste, malty on the background and light hoppy in the end, but lacks depth in the palate and the taste. Medium mouthfeel and relatively low carbonation after the initial burst. Overall, a good summer beer for the style!
