Live Oak HefeWeizen

5.2% ABV. Hefeweizen from the Live Oak Brewing Company in Austin, Texas. I acquired this growler through trade; I really wanted to try this especially in the summer and the fact that this was a very hyped up hefe in the beer community. Pours a cloudy and hazy straw yellow color with a nice thick white head especially after an aggressive pour. The aroma is of belgian yeast, banana, and wheat. Smooth tasting with a fine balance of banana, clove, and wheat with a slight watered-down after taste along with the yeast. Zero alcohol taste. Very refreshing. This is indeed one overhyped hefe and I’ve had plenty better ones – so this was a bit disappointing after I traded quite a bit for this growler. But, in any case, sure glad to have tried this one from Austin!
